NLP is the study of the structure of subjective experience, in other words the study of how we each, as individuals see the world from our own points of reference. How we process information and re-present it to the world. How we communicate with ourselves and others and how making small changes or becoming aware of our thinking patterns and programmes can allow us to make significant and lasting changes to our lives.
It is how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes.
NLP can be used to work in many areas, whether this be within your personal life, relationships or within the work place. It’s been used successfully in Business, coaching, education, sport and health.
The hypnosis I use in sessions is not like the stage hypnosis you may see on TV or in theatres. In fact, hypnotic trance is a natural state of being that you experience several times a day. For example if you are an experienced driver, you may find that you sometimes realise you’ve reached your destination, without remembering the actual drive there, or when you are listening to the radio or watching TV, you are most often doing that in a hypnotic trance.
It’s important to remember that all hypnosis is done by you, the client. I merely facilitate the process with you. Being in a hypnotic trance just allows easier access to the unconscious mind, which takes in more information than our conscious mind and so makes it easier for you to assimilate the fundamental changes you want to make in your life. Hypnosis is a valuable process to use for dealing with phobias, smoking cessation, weight loss and building confidence and self esteem. I also use hypnosis, in addition to other tools, to help my clients move forward towards their goals.
